Hello, I’m Aisha Misbah

I'm a journalist/copywriter who loves telling people's stories, especially members of underrepresented, marginalized communities. I contribute work across subject areas—local and community news, as well as arts, culture and tech-industry stories.

A Little About Me

Bryce Canyon National Park 2024

When I’m not freelancing for a publication or working full-time, I like to write short stories in my free time to let my creative juices out, read books (mainly sci-fi and fantasy) and enjoy the outdoors. Sometimes, you can find me doing all three at once.

Movies also play a significant role in my life. Whether I'm cozying up on the coach or eating overpriced popcorn at the movie theater, I love watching films. Some of my favorites are the Spiderman Spiderverse films, Moonlight (2016) and Nope (2022). I also have a penchant for horror, something my friends don’t like about me on movie nights.

I am also involved in current social issues, advocating for a better world for all communities. I can be found at protests or community get-togethers, always learning more about marginalized communities, which influences my role as a journalist.

I hope to become a writer who positively impacts people’s lives. Whether it be a big or small impact, I aim to ensure that my writing is valuable and significant for individuals and communities.
